"I’m really proud of the work we do in emerging markets – it’s not always easy but it’s extremely rewarding."
“I’ve worked at ThomasLloyd for over five years in the investment team covering a number of our Asian markets. Prior to joining ThomasLloyd, I had been working in emerging markets for 25 years in M&A and ECM with much of this time focused on infrastructure. That gave me a good grounding for the work that we do here at ThomasLloyd. Traveling to our projects across the markets that we cover is the exciting part of my job, and I particularly enjoy interacting and working with our local teams on the ground.
One of the first transactions I led at ThomasLloyd was our investment into SolarArise in India in 2018. I am really proud of the work we do in that investee company and the fact we have been able to grow the generation capacity by 3 times since we first made the investment. Given the past two years have been challenging on a global scale, it is very rewarding that we continued to construct and operate projects during this time.
In 2021, we launched the ThomasLloyd Energy Impact Trust plc on the London Stock Exchange which was the first renewable energy trust to focus on assets in emerging Asia. Launching the Trust required teamwork and collaboration across many parts of the business and it was a great exercise in working together with so many colleagues. There is a lot of talk in the market about ESG, impact, etc. and so it feels great to be part of a business that just doesn’t talk but actually delivers. The future is very exciting!”
